“Echoes of Silence”: SJCC Showcases Student Art at Lalithakala Akademi Gallery

St. Joseph College of Communication (SJCC) proudly inaugurated “Echoes of Silence,” a painting and sculpture exhibition featuring the creative works of its students, as part of Enliven ’26, the institution’s Animation and Design Festival. The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Jose Panachippuram, Editorial Director of Malayala Manorama, marking a significant cultural moment for the college. The exhibition is being held at the prestigious Lalithakala Akademi Gallery (DC Kizhakkemuri Idam) from February 2 to 6. The gallery space has been transformed into a vibrant arena of artistic expression, showcasing an array of paintings and sculptures created by SJCC students. Each work reflects thoughtful interpretation, aesthetic depth, and the evolving artistic identity of young creators. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr. Joffy Puthupparambu, Executive Director of SJCC. Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathew Muriankary, Principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Jojin Ilanjikkal, Academic Director, and Thomas Joseph, Vice Principal, were present at the function. Art instructor Saji Raphael, along with renowned artists T. R. Udayakumar, T. S. Prasad, C. C. Ashokan, and Prof. Babu Cherian, also graced the occasion and addressed the gathering, appreciating the originality and craftsmanship displayed by the students. Organised under the banner of Enliven ’26, the exhibition highlights SJCC’s commitment to nurturing creativity beyond classrooms and providing students with professional platforms to present their work. “Echoes of Silence” stands as a testament to the college’s dedication to artistic excellence and meaningful engagement with the wider cultural community.
