In the wake of the post-COVID situation and the pressures of a hectic lifestyle, the mental health of students is increasingly at risk. To support students in need, St. Joseph College of Communication has established a dedicated counselling cell, staffed by a full-time counsellor and a part-time counsellor.
At the beginning of each academic year, all students participate in an introductory session with the counsellor to foster a sense of comfort and trust, demonstrating the college's genuine concern for their mental well-being. For students experiencing depression or other mental health challenges, specialized sessions are arranged, involving both the students and their parents, with referrals to a psychiatrist provided when necessary.
Counselling sessions are also offered to students facing disciplinary actions such as suspensions or warnings, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and support. Students are treated with compassion and support during times of personal loss.
In addition to counselling, teachers also mentor and guide students throughout their academic journey at SJCC, offering ongoing support and companionship.
