The alumni of our college have made an indelible mark on the Malayalam film industry, achieving both National and State Awards. Mr. Mathukutty Xavier, who studied BA Animation & Graphic Design from 2011 to 2014, received the National Award for Best Debut Director in 2019 for his film “Helen”. Similarly, Achu Arunkumar, a BA Multimedia graduate from 2011, won the Kerala State Award for Best Dubbing Artist in 2017 for his role in “Theeram”. Mr. Mathukutty Xavier also garnered attention in Bollywood with the Hindi remake of "Helen" titled "Mili".

Another proud alumnus is Mr. Phantom Praveen, the first independent director from our ranks, known for directing the Malayalam movie “Udaharanam Sujatha”. This film, portraying the struggles of a single mother, reflects the values instilled by our college and has received accolades including the Kerala Film Critics Award for Best Actress in 2017. Additionally, alumni Mr. Bibin Paul Samuel (director of "Aaha") and Mr. Abhijith Joseph (director of "John Luther") have risen as independent directors in 2022. Mr. Roy Karakattu, who won the Kerala Film Critics Award for "Kattinarike", is also an esteemed alumnus. MC Jithin made his mark in the Malayalam Film Industry with his directorial debut "Nonsense" (2017). Alumni such as Neil D'Cunha and Alex J Pulickal have emerged as highly skilled and renowned cinematographers in the industry.

Many alumni have excelled in ad film production, documentary making, and established their own production companies. Others have pursued careers in journalism as reporters, creative writers, digital content producers, and photojournalists, with some thriving as freelancers. Several have secured positions in multinational companies like Google, Amazon, IBM, Infosys, and TCS, working in roles such as animators, VFX artists, creative directors, UI/UX designers, graphic designers, sound designers, editors, and interior designers.

Our alumni are prominently situated in metropolitan cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kochi, with a significant presence in Gulf countries, USA, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The alumni association, now registered, has active chapters in Bangalore and Kochi.

Many of our alumni are serving as assistant professors at various media colleges, underscoring our pioneering role in this field. SJCCians form the backbone of the film industry and media in Kerala, contributing significantly to numerous media productions and establishing a profound legacy.
