As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, the Nature Club, NSS, and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of St. Joseph College of Communication (SJCC) organized a special screening of the award-winning environmental film Bhuthalam. The film, which received the Kerala Film Critics Award for Best Environmental Film, served as a powerful reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living. The programme featured an interactive session with the film’s director, Sreekanth Pangappattu, who engaged with students and shared insights into the making of the film and the environmental issues it addresses. During the event, Fr. Jofy Puthuparampil, Executive Director of SJCC, officially launched the “Call for Entries” poster of the SJCC Film Festival 2026. The poster launch marks the beginning of the festival’s global outreach campaign, inviting filmmakers from around the world to submit their works and participate in the festival. The celebrations concluded with a tree-planting initiative on the college campus, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to environmental stewardship and encouraging the community to contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future.
