Students of St. Joseph College of Communication undertook an industrial visit to the Kochi–Muziris Biennale, India’s largest contemporary art exhibition, held every two years in the historic precincts of Fort Kochi. The industrial visit provided students with an inspiring exposure to contemporary art practices and global creative expressions. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Fort Kochi, the Biennale transforms heritage buildings, warehouses, and public spaces into immersive exhibition venues. During the visit, students explored a wide range of art forms, including painting, sculpture, installation, video art, performance, and new media. The exhibitions reflected diverse perspectives, social themes, and innovative artistic approaches from artists across India and around the world. The Biennale experience helped students understand the evolving language of contemporary art and its relevance in today’s cultural and social contexts. It also encouraged creative thinking, critical observation, and visual storytelling. Beyond exhibitions, the Kochi–Muziris Biennale hosts talks, workshops, film screenings, and interactive sessions, creating a dynamic platform for dialogue and learning. The industrial visit proved to be an enriching academic and cultural experience for the students.
