The Department of Media Studies at St. Joseph College of Communication organised a seminar titled “Indian Cinema: A Window to India’s Soul” on 16 January 2026, offering students critical insights into the cultural, social, and artistic dimensions of Indian cinema. The session was led by Mr. K. Hariharan, eminent filmmaker and academician, and an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Drawing from his acclaimed filmmaking career and academic experience, Mr. Hariharan examined cinema as a reflection of India’s history, identities, and lived realities. The seminar provided an intellectually stimulating learning experience, reinforcing SJCC’s focus on film studies, cultural analysis, and industry-informed media education.
