St. Joseph College of Communication will host the Sankaramangalam Lectures 2026 on 14 January 2026 as part of the centenary tribute to legendary filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak, under the theme “Rhythms of Compassion: Cinema of Ritwik Ghatak – The Radical Visionary.” The lecture series will feature distinguished speakers Mr. Hariharan K, acclaimed filmmaker and academician, and Mr. C. S. Venkiteswar, noted film critic. The sessions will critically examine Ghatak’s cinematic language, humanistic vision, and contribution to Indian cinema. Organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the programme aims to deepen students’ understanding of film aesthetics, historical context, and ethical engagement in filmmaking, reinforcing SJCC’s commitment to academic excellence and critical media education.
