The Department of Media Studies at SJCC organized a two-day workshop titled “From Script to Set: Mastering the Pre-Production Stages” on July 8th and 10th, 2025. The workshop was designed for the MA Cinema and Television and MA Print and Electronic Journalism 2024–26 batch students and was conducted as part of the course Media Business and Practice. The sessions were led by renowned cinematographer and executive, line producer Mr. Anwar S Kaithadi, who has worked in several notable Malayalam films including Karinkunnam 6’s (2016), Aden (2017), Joseph (2018), and Elaveezhapoonchira (2021), along with numerous advertising and film projects T he workshop focused on core pre-production practices such as script development for advertisements, budgeting, and call sheet preparation. These hands-on activities allowed students to gain practical insights into the media production process. A total of 20 students actively participated in the sessions. The workshop was coordinated by faculty in charge Ms. Sara Koshy and the event proved to be a valuable opportunity for students to engage with industry professionals and understand the workflow behind the camera before a production hits the set.
