St. Joseph College of Communication welcomed the academic year 2025- 26 with a vibrant two-day celebration of Academic Year Inauguration & Newcomers' Day on 1 & 2 July at MV Cinemas, featuring artistic brilliance, heartfelt reflections, and inspiring addresses. The festivities were thoughtfully organized by the Department of Media Studies and the Department of Animation & Design. On 1st July, the inaugural day led by the Department of Media Studies began with a warm welcome by Rev. Dr. Mathew Muriankary, Principal, and a presidential address by Rev. Fr. Jophy Puthuparambu, Executive Director. Mr. Tharun Moorthy, renowned film director lit the ceremonial lamp and delivered a stirring keynote, urging students to pursue creative excellence with social responsibility. The programme featured felicitations by Mr. Thomas Joseph (Vice Principal), Mr. Sunny Joseph (Dean of Studies), and Mr. Alby Anto Sunil (College Union Chairman), followed by experience sharing from alumni and students including Mr. Mibish Biju (alumnus), Mr. Sreehari Ashok, and Mr. Joyal Vincent Kuriakose. The day also included vibrant music and dance performances by the College Band and Dance Club along with the honouring of rank holders. A heartfelt message from a rank holder representative and the much-an-ticipated poster release of the upcoming SJCC Film Festival added to the highlights of the event. Ms. Nissa Susan Mathew, Head of the Department of Media Studies, delivered the vote of thanks. On the second day, the Department of Animation & Design carried the spirit forward with an inspiring address by Rev. Dr. Mathew Mu-riankary, followed by the presidential remarks of Rev. Dr. Jojin Elanjickal, Academic Director, who emphasized creativity with discipline. The Chief Guest, Prof. Tensing Joseph, former Principal of the College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum lit the lamp and shared profound insights from his artistic journey. Felicitations were extended by Mr. Thomas Joseph and Ms. Anu R. B. (Vice Chairperson). alumni and students including Mr. Heavenstar Hilary, Mr. Advaith Ajay, Ms. Tania Francis, Ms. Ann Anna, and Mr. Aaron Jo Philip shared their reflections. A special moment of the day was the Special Appreciation Award presented to Ms. Angela Susan John, followed by the honouring of academic achievers. A token of gratitude was presented to the chief guest by the Principal, concluding the ceremony on a note of pride and joy.
