The feature film Aadachayi, directed by St. Joseph College of Communication alumnus Dr. Binoy G. Russel, was released in theatres across Kerala on 17 January 2025. A proud moment for the SJCC community, Dr. Russel, a graduate of the MA Cinema & Television program (2005 batch), has masterfully brought his vision to life through this cinematic gem. The film portrays the harmonious coexistence of farmers with nature in Kuttanad, a region in Kerala uniquely located below sea level. Adachayi is more than a visual treat; it is a compelling narrative advocating environmental conservation and sustainable, eco-friendly development. The film has already garnered acclaim, winning six international and national awards in various categories, a testament to its artistic and thematic excellence. Dr. Russel’s achievement highlights the nurturing environment at SJCC, which continues to inspire its alumni to excel and create impactful contributions to the world of cinema.
