The Department of Animation and Design at St. Joseph College of Communication celebrated International Animation Day on October 25, 2024, with a lively event titled "Alive 2024." This celebration brought together animation enthusiasts, students, and faculty to explore the creative possibilities within the world of animation and comics. The highlight of the day was a seminar led by Mr. Anil Vega, a renowned comic artist, who delivered an inspiring talk on the theme “Art and Comics.” His insights into the art of storytelling through visuals captivated the audience, emphasizing the impact of comics on culture and imagination. Adding to the excitement, various competitions—such as Cosplay, Comic Strip Creation, Character Design, and Face Painting—provided students with a platform to showcase their talents and bring their artistic visions to life. Alive 2024 celebrated not only the technical skill involved in animation and design but also the limitless creativity that drives these visual arts forward.
