With a legacy spanning 50 years, the Department of Commerce traces its origins back to the inception of the college as a private institution in 1974, offering pre-degree and degree programmes in parallel streams. The formalization of the BCom program led to the establishment of the Department of Commerce in 2019. Today, the department offers a diverse array of courses and activities centered around business, economics, and commerce. The BCom programme is known for its academic excellence and affordability, with students also having the option to pursue multidisciplinary courses such as photography, filmmaking, animation, design, and VFX during their tenure at SJCC.
