The Department of Animation and Design at St. Joseph College of Communication organized an industrial visit to the Malayala Manorama Works Unit, Kodimatha, Kottayam, for the MA Graphic Design (2024–26 batch) students and BA Animation and Graphic Design (2023–26 batch) students. The visit offered students a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to one of Kerala’s leading media and publishing establishments. During the visit, students were introduced to the end-to-end newspaper production process, including pre-press operations, page layout, printing technology, colour management, and large-scale publication workflows. Industry professionals at Malayala Manorama interacted with the students and explained the practical aspects of graphic design in a real-world media environment. The sessions highlighted how design principles, typography, and visual communication are applied in daily newspaper production and digital publishing. The industrial visit proved to be an enriching learning experience, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practices. It also helped students understand professional standards, workflow efficiency, and career possibilities in the media and design industry. The Department extends its sincere gratitude to the Malayala Manorama Works Unit, Kodimatha, for their support and cooperation in making the visit informative and inspiring for the students.
