On August 13, 2024, the NSS unit of St. Joseph College of Communication held a highly successful cell donor campaign in partnership with DATRI, India's largest unrelated stem cell and bone marrow donor registry. The campaign was aimed at saving the lives of patients suffering from blood disorders, including Archana, who is in urgent need of blood stem cells. Students willing to donate samples of their bone marrow registered at the seminar hall. The samples, collected by DATRI, will help in finding potential donor matches for patients like Archana. A total of 376 donors participated, marking the campaign as a major success. DATRI, a non-profit organization, conducts similar drives annually to support patients battling life-threatening diseases. This collaboration between SJCC and DATRI underscores the importance of community participation in saving lives through cell donation.
