Proneness to women atrocities is not a recent phenomenon in the society. With the rising number of crimes against women St Joseph College of Communication has took a step forward for self-defence training with a goal of preventing violence against women. The class was apprehended in association with Kerala Police for strengthening women’s capacity to defend themselves against potential attacks. Ms.Sheema Subash and Ms.Cicilia Mol, women police officers explained various techniques and demonstrated different practical defence skills. Mrs.Shylamol, Pink police of Changanacherry police station shared her views on achieving gender equality and said that achieving gender equality and enabling all women is very important. The class concluded well devising women filled with courage towards making a role in female leadership.
